Triton of the Sea - Episode 12

"The Great Explosion of Dolphin Island"

Neleus

Poseidon revealed!

Marcuses rally the shark armies. In the Greek city underwater (I think I can just call it the Atlantis ruins now), the bipedal bearded walrus Neleus approaches a gigantic demon statue.

"Neeleus. Triton has killed Doriate. We have no time to lose."
Neleus tells Poseidon that he has sent the message to the other
commanders to kill Triton. He says that the Oriharucon dagger is
the dagger of Atlantean legend that can beat all the evil spirits
down, and that is the reason Triton beat Doriate. Poseidon blasts
Neleus with air and tells him that Triton is the devil who disturbs
the dark world(?). Neleus tells him that Poripeimos will need his
help to conquer Triton. After Neleus leaves, Poseidon says that
he will change the legend of Atlantis on his own(?) [A lot of
translations I am not sure of here.]

At the island, Fin blows the conch to call Triton as Luka does flips
and worries about Triton (big surprise). Pipi takes it and blows
(just to try it out, she says). Fin chuckles and says (to herself)
that secretly Pipi's worried about him. Meanwhiles, Morsejellies tap
out that Triton is swimming toward Dolphin Island.
"The dolphin island is the hiding place of Triton". Pipi
hears Triton's parents from the conch. Fin tells Pipi that no one
but the Triton can hear it. Pipi angrily denies it and throws the
conch into the water.

Very strange eye design on this creature.

Marcuses tell Poripeimos to immediately inform Poseidon when he has reached Dolphin Island.

Triton finally arrives, but Pipi is hiding in her hovel as usual.
He tells them about Doriate's suicide, and Luka remarks that Medon
can finally live in peace. Triton tells them that all of the secrets
are in the Atlantic Ocean. Meanwhile, Poripeimos reaches
Dolphin Island, and the Morsejellies tap out the message to Poseidon...Fin spots the shark armies while retrieving the conch.

Triton goes inside Pipi's room. She says that she didn't know Triton
was coming back, and Triton calls her a liar. As he leaves, Triton
tells her that she is a Triton, and Pipi snaps that she already
knew that. The dolphins tell Triton that Pipi panicked when she heard
the conch. Pipi calls them all liars and starts blubbering again.

Triton and the dolphins go to find Fin; Luka and Pipi follow soon after. Triton tells Pipi to go back, as the water is too warm. At the surface, they see a storm beginning and wonder if the Poseidon are coming.

Fin, having gotten the conch, sees giant towers of energy rising from
the sea bottom, and rushes to tell the others. Poripeimos laughs.
"Poseidon has started to attack!"

The inhabitants of Dolphin Island begin to run as poison gas rises
from the island.

Poseidon fires two beams of yellow light from his eyes at the island.
Poripeimos thinks that it is the light of the Oriharucon dagger before
he realizes that it's aimed at Dolphin Island. The island explodes
after it is hit by the light. Poripeimos orders his troops to
search for survivors.

The explosions from the island's destruction kill many of the generic
dolphins. Triton, seeing Poripeimos's troops, draws the Oriharucon
dagger and kills many of them. He floats in the sea, alone, as the
episode ends...

COMMENTS

---The names "Neleus" and "Nereus" appear in both Homer's Odyessy
and Virgil's Aeneid. I've forgotton who they are, but suffice it to say they are not talking walrii in the ancient epics.
