Triton of the Sea - Episode 1 Synopsis
Here is a synopsis of Episode 1 of TRITON OF THE SEA.
Because of the many pictures, I have split this synopsis into two parts.

NOTE - I do not speak Japanese. The subtitles on the episodes I have are very flawed. Please let me know of any inaccuracies.
An explosion rocks a ring-shaped island......Suddenly, a boy riding a dolphin appears wielding a glowing red dagger..."I won't lose to the monsters of Poseidon!" Who is this mysterious boy? His story begins in a fishing village in Japan near Kuroshiro...
The ocean roils, alive with dolphins and jellyfish. In another location, a fisherman, Ippei, is worried..."That fool climbed up there again. Stop!" A group of children watch the green-haired boy climb the cape. The boy, Triton, reaches the top despite the cries of the fisherman. The fisherman is not able to get closer, and Triton jumps off the cape into a whirlpool.
"Triton, Triton!" The fisherman remembers the day he found Triton in a cave in the cape, 13 years ago, along with a cape and a wrapped knife. His companion argues against taking Triton, ""He must be the son of a sea person. One day he will return to the sea." "If he is from the sea, I have a thousand reasons to raise him." Hearing a noise, he turns to see a white dolphin jumping in the distance.
Triton pops up from the whirlpool, unharmed. "Get back to the shore, Triton!" "It's okay!" Triton says, before the current sucks him under. He gets under control and swims deeper, as jellyfish rise from the depths. He seems to have no trouble breathing. "No deeper!" a voice screams. Suddenly, a white dolphin pushes him back up to the shore. Triton goes home, after meeting with a grumpy old woman. "Scary kid...he plays with dolphins...scary kid" she tells Triton's father, who wonders "Did it come to take him away?"
A jellyfish lowers its tendril to the water and taps in Morse code "Saw Triton. Saw Triton." The white dolphin realizes that it is too late...Poseidon has been alerted. She destroys the jellyfish, but the effort is futile. The call goes through the ocean to "Posedion"...
Seahorses appear before two baleful eyes. "The Triton survivors have been found? Tell Doriate to destroy them!" The seahorses teleport to Doriate, a medusa-haired, seashell-topped woman who turns sharks to stone with her whip. She calls the monster Salamandara, a giant lizard, to destroy Triton.
