Triton of the Sea - Episode 22

"The Bizarre Almon Curse"

Neleus paces around Atlantis, where he is harrased by Golsynos. Neleus
tells him that he may have to fight Triton eventually. Poseidon is
told that Triton is going to the Indian Ocean, where Pluda is
stationed.

Pluda tells them that he will use the monster Almon to defeat Triton.

The gang sees some strange lights in the middle of the ocean, which
Triton and Karo go to check out. The source turns out to be an island: the island of Almon, in fact - thanks Morsejelly!

Triton comes upon a dead town on the island. Hearing some strange
chants, he comes upon a ceremony of people before a statue of
Poseidon with a shaman calling for him to sleep forever and calling
him the son of the devil. Triton faces them and says he is not the
son of the devil. He is told that Almon has been waiting for him.

Triton runs off to the ocean, where the small boy Budy tells them that
the villagers think that their daily sacrifices to Almon can be stopped
by Triton's death. The lights that Triton saw were the souls of the
trapped people. Budy begs Triton to use the Oriharucon to save the
villagers (Triton never mentioned the dagger).

Triton confronts him just as Karo tells him what Almon is - a sea anemone under the island. Budy overpowers Triton and takes the dagger, but without a soul the dagger cannot be operated.

Suddenly, Almon arises from the ocean and attacks. Karo gets the
Oriharucon dagger back, and Triton dives underwater to face
Almon. Almon is killed, but when Triton arises from the ocean
the villagers still want him dead because of Almon's orders.

Triton is strapped on the altar and dropped into the pit...and
the Oriharucon dagger follows! Triton catches the dagger, only
to have the island itself attack him!

The whole island is Almon the anemone, and goes wild, killing the villagers...only to disintegrate due to the Oriharucon dagger (this is unseen). The unconscious Triton is taken back by Karo.

Pluda is upbraided and given another chance. Yeah, I'm suuure he'll succeed next time.

Triton and the gang swim on, sad that they could not have saved the villagers from Almon the island...
